The most modern European glassworks Bomma were opened in 2012 by Jiří Trtík on the site of the former glass factory in Světlá nad Sázavou that had been operating there for a hundred years. From the very beginning of the glassworks operation, Jiří Trtík placed particular emphasis on perfect artistic craftsmanship and, last but not least, on modern design. At present, Bomma glassworks produce hand-blown glass of various sizes as well as glass manufactured by using glass-making machines of its own production.

Bomma glassworks are able to produce glass designs and their technical specifications, and develop products. The glassworks have a pressed glass production line and advanced technology making it possible to grind optical lenses, technical and decorative glassware and other glass materials. Bomma also cooperates with numerous prominent Czech designers and artists, such as František Vízner, Monika Kořínková and Daniel Gonzalez.
